“Home” Time for another little Poem
Hello again ladies and gentlemen, I have finally typed up a few things that I had started to jot down while away on holiday and just generally while I have been away from a computer. So I thought it was about time that there was another on of my so called poems on here! Check out the “writing” page for my others along with my short stories, well here we go:
Home
By Daniel .M. Brown
The adventure has been and gone,
Take home these memories.
Traveling through sunshine and rain,
Through scorching heat and breeze.
Roads were trodden and mountains climbed,
The lands surveyed afar
From these high places the heart looks
For homes bright peaceful star
And so now life must be picked up
And end this time alone
For now it seems the spirit yearns
To once again see home.
Traveling back with undue dread,
The distance seems to grow,
Between the moving legs that ache
And the safe place you know.
The heart gains weight with every step,
And pulls down on the chest
As limbs and bones long for their bed,
The sweet nectar of rest.
Thanks for reading folks, I don’t know if any of these are actually any good but what harm is done by sharing them with you lot anyway!
As always until the next time, look after yourself and have fun,
dan
