And What (Another Little Poem)
Good evening to you all, I told you I would post something more creative than the last few items so here we go! This is a rather bleak sounding work really, but it is meant as more of a reflection on people being wrapped up in the diversions of every day life rather than a depressing look at life. Why shouldn’t life be endless fun?
Here we go, enjoy:
And What
By Daniel .M. Brown
Forever on this world will go
And after we’re gone who will know
What we were, achieved and became
To history it’s all the same.
Your money, houses and your cars
Mean nothing when beyond the stars,
Work like a dog for petty wealth
Forget your friends and damn your health.
Look at you now, what you have done
You’ve seen it all and had your fun.
But time regards you as it’s fool,
You saw no peace, life's one jewel.
Console yourself with possessions
Life is good, smile, the timer runs
The seconds tick, there moving fast
Towards darkness and death at last.
Forever on this world will go
The leaves will fall, the wind will blow
And on and on until we die
We live this life, this lonely lie.
Thanks for reading folks, check back tomorrow for the new written and recorded Original Short Story episode. I really like tomorrows story it is back to the very short length that the series started off with so only around 5 minutes! Come on, you would only waste those minutes for sure!
